Emma van Heeswijk wins 'KHMW Jan Brouwer Scriptieprijs' for thesis on AI, democracy and citizenship

On Friday 9 February, the 'KHMW' (Royal Holland Society of Sciences and Humanities) presented the 'Jan Brouwer Scriptieprijs' (Jan Brouwer Thesis Awards) at the Hodshonhuis in Haarlem. The winner of the thesis prize for Political Science and Public Administration is Emma van Heeswijk MSc, for her thesis “Moral Machines as Citizens? Exploring Moral Status and Democratic Citizenship for Artificial General Intelligence”. These prizes are awarded annually for theses in the humanities and social sciences.
