The Erasmus+ ICM programme supports academic collaboration with partner institutions outside the European Union. This year’s grants will support partnerships with the following universities:
- Universidad de Buenos Aires, Argentina
- Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, Argentina
- The University of Western Ontario, Canada
- Université Cheikh Anta Diop de Dakar, Senegal
- Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences, Tanzania
The Department of Mathematics is partnering with Universidad de Buenos Aires and Universidad Nacional de Córdoba on a research project focused on statistics, specifically on Last Passage Percolation. The project is led by Erik Koelink and Eric Cator.
The Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour will deepen its ongoing collaboration with Western University’s Centre for Brain & Mind. Led by Femke Maij, the project aims to gain understanding of rapidly progressing neurological diseases such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's.
The Department of Metaphysics and Philosophical Anthropology will work with Université Cheikh Anta Diop de Dakar to promote critical reflection on Western philosophy to counteract our own blind spots. The project is coordinated by Herman Westerink and Annabelle Dufourcq.
Building on an existing collaboration in Tanzania with the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre, Radboudumc is now also partnering with Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences. The project, led by Quirijn de Mast and Niels van Heerbeek, focuses on Public Health, and in specific on reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, neglected tropical diseases, and non-communicable diseases.
Through these projects, Radboud University hopes to strengthen existing collaborations and build meaningful new international partnerships.
