Expert group on modernisation of public limited company law advises Dutch cabinet and parliament

On Tuesday 24 January, the Dutch Minister for Legal Protection Franc Weerwind sent the first advice of the Expert Group on Modernisation of Public Limited Company Law to the House of Representatives. Professors in Corporate Law Claartje Bulten and Martin van Olffen lead the Expert Group as chairmen; PhD student in Corporate Law Constantijn Burggraaf has been appointed secretary.

The Expert Group on Modernisation of Public Limited Company Law consists of academics and practising lawyers. It has been appointed to remove bottlenecks in public limited company law and make concrete proposals for improvement and adaptation. The advice concerns loyalty shares. The Minister shares the Expert Group's conclusions that there is currently insufficient reason to introduce a national regulation on loyalty shares.
