Explicit permission required for recording via Teams

From 1 September 2024, as a participant, you must give explicit permission if a recording is made of a Teams meeting you attend. This includes audio (voice comments), video (your video feed from your webcam) and screen/content sharing.

Until you give permission for the recording, any contribution from you to the meeting will be blocked. While the blocking is in effect, you can still see and hear other participants in the meeting (if they have given permission). You can also still send and receive messages.

As an organiser, ask for permission

The moment you want to record a Teams meeting, participants must first give permission for their contribution (audio, video or screen/content sharing) to be recorded. If a participant does not give permission, they cannot actively contribute to the meeting. They can, however, hear and see the other participants and send and receive chat messages.

Do you want more information? Then check out the Explicit Recording Consent (connect to EduVPN and log in with your Radboud account to access this page).
