Faculty of Arts proclaims Nijmegen 'Language Capital' in May

On Monday 9 May, the Faculty of Arts will proclaim Nijmegen 'Language Capital'. In a subsequent campaign week, writer Adriaan van Dis will receive an honorary doctorate and for four days you can take part in almost 50 activities related to language and culture.

We breathe languages and cultures on campus. In addition to the many study programmes of the Faculty of Arts, leading institutes for language research and research into language and the brain can be found at and near the university. For example the Centre for Language StudiesRadboud In'to LanguagesDonders Institute and Max Planck Institute. By naming Nijmegen the Language Capital, we are showing what we have to offer in the field of language and culture.
