Five Faculty of Arts Programmes Receive Elsevier Medal

Every year, EW Beste Studies awards bronze, silver and gold medals to study programmes across the country. This year, there are 367 of them, of which 16 were awarded to Radboud University. The Faculty of Arts is proud to report that this year, four of its Bachelor's programmes and one Master's programme were awarded a bronze medal.

In EW Beste Studies, programmes at universities (and colleges of higher education) are compared based on students' opinions of their programmes. The student opinions are based on data from the National Student Survey (NSE).

Bronze medals were awarded to our Bachelor's programmes in German Language and Culture, Dutch Language and Culture, French Language and Culture and Spanish Language and Culture and our Master's programme in Literary Studies. The medals are awarded using student judgements on the 11 satisfaction questions from the NSE over the past three years:

  • In 1 year, on at least four questions, a score of at least one standard deviation above the sector average: a bronze medal
  • In 2 years, on at least four questions, a score of at least one standard deviation above the sector average: a silver medal
  • In 3 years, on at least four questions, a score of at least one standard deviation above the sector average: a gold medal
