Beekhoven van den Boezem has worked part-time at Radboud University as Professor of Business and Finance since 2008. He also works at De Nederlandsche Bank in Amsterdam, as general counsel and divisional director of Legal Affairs. In this combination of roles, he has gained extensive experience in both academia and a major supervisory body. For example, he has been advising the boards of De Nederlandsche Bank and the European Central Bank and manages lawyers and compliance and privacy specialists, experiences that will come in handy in the Faculty Board.
Frits-Joost Beekhoven van den Boezem appointed new Dean of Faculty of Law
Prof. Frits-Joost Beekhoven van den Boezem, LL.M, has been appointed Dean of the Faculty of Law as of 1 March 2026. He will succeed Roel Schutgens, who resigned as dean on 1 March 2025. In the intervening period, Michael Veder and Hansko Broeksteeg fulfilled the roles of interim dean and acting interim dean. Michael Veder will continue to fulfil that role until 1 March.
Previously, Beekhoven van den Boezem worked at ING, held various positions in academic education and research, and was a lawyer as well as a deputy judge and councillor. Beekhoven van den Boezem's academic expertise lies in the fields of financial law, corporate law, insolvency law, and banking & financing. He publishes and teaches in national and international contexts.

The dean chairs the Faculty Board. Radboud University deans are appointed on the basis of a nomination by an advisory committee that also includes representatives of the Faculty Student Council and faculty staff participational bodies.
