The Iris' green initiative coincides with the start of National Week Without Meat & Dairy: a campaign that challenges people to not eat or drink meat and dairy for a week. Will you also take up the challenge?
Focus on vegetarian and vegan food and drinks
Our daily choices around food and drink have a major impact on the world around us - and therefore play an important role in the pursuit of sustainability on the Radboud University campus. Now and in the coming years, we choose seasonal and natural products from close by. We keep food waste to a minimum and encourage the choice of sustainable products. Currently, 75% of the food on offer at the university's catering outlets is vegetarian or vegan. By 2024, we will go to at least 80%. To reach that percentage, new products and recipes are being tested in the Iris which, if successful, will be sold in several places on campus. The transition of the Iris is a great step towards the goal of 80% vega(n) offers - and makes sure you always have a sustainable choice at your disposal in your lunch or coffee break!
