Inge Bleijenbergh appointed professor of Action Research in the field of equality, diversity, and inclusion

Inge Bleijenbergh has been appointed professor of Action Research, in particular in the field of equality, diversity, and inclusion, at the Nijmegen School of Management with effect from 1 June 2022.

Bleijenbergh's research provides insight into the social systems of organisations and the possibilities for making them more inclusive. In her action research, Bleijenbergh involves stakeholders in organisations in developing knowledge that is important for these groups, including in the areas of equality and inclusion. These include women on temporary contracts, employees with an international background, and Eastern European migrant workers.

"I want to democratise the way we obtain scientific knowledge, giving those involved a role in the whole research process," Bleijenbergh said. "I use participatory techniques, such as focus groups and participatory modelling. This allows me to work with participants to structure what they already know and to integrate and broaden this knowledge."
