Brochure: 'On the Way to an Intercultural Church '
During previous meet-up days, it was established that within the Dutch ecclesiastical province, the connectivity between communities, parishes, and dioceses of migrants and their territorial partners is not always a given. Sometimes, relations are challenging or entirely absent, but there are also inspiring examples of fruitful collaboration that enable the church to grow and flourish. At the 2024 meet-up in Almere, discussions were held on what migrant communities themselves can contribute to an intercultural Catholic Church. The resulting brochure, On the Way to an Intercultural Catholic Church – Practical Tips, will be presented on 8 November to Ward Biemans SJ, who will take up the position of delegate for migrants of the Diocese of Haarlem-Amsterdam and will therefore also be part of Cura Migratorum.
Talking points
The main topics of this day will be:
- How can we overcome potential resistance to interculturality within the Catholic Church?
- How do we deal with the increased polarisation in society, as a community and as individual Christians?
