Michael Veder and Hansko Broeksteeg join the Board of the Faculty of Law

The Executive Board has appointed Michael Veder as interim dean of the Faculty of Law (until 1 November) and Hansko Broeksteeg as interim vice dean (until 1 January). This follows positive advice from the faculty participational bodies. From 1 April, they will form the Faculty Board together with Vincent van Hoof and Sharon de Groot.

In addition to being responsible for the day-to-day management of the faculty, the interim Faculty Board will ensure that the appointment procedure for a new dean is started as soon as possible and that an analysis of the (working) culture is carried out.

Claartje Bulten steps down as vice dean to allow the Research Centre for State and Law (SteR) and the Radboud Business Law Institute (OO&R) to both be represented on the Faculty Board.

Alexandra van Huffelen and José Sanders: “We are delighted that the Faculty Board is now restored to full strength and are confident that Michael Veder and Hansko Broeksteeg, together with the other members, will be able to tackle the faculty's governance challenges ahead.”

Michael Veder has been a professor of civil law, in particular insolvency law, at Radboud University since 2012. He was previously a member of the Faculty Board as vice dean from 2018-2024. Michael Veder: “Along with the other members of the Faculty Board, I will be fully committed to working for the benefit of all the staff and students in our wonderful faculty in the coming months.”

Hansko Broeksteeg has been a professor of constitutional law and a member of the law faculty since 2007. He also served as vice dean on the Faculty Board, from 2014 to 2017. Hansko Broeksteeg: “It’s great that we’ll be able to get started quickly. I will be fully committed to working on the board and especially to legal research.”
