Minor 'Young in motion’

As of 1 September 2024 the new interdisciplinary minor 'Young in motion’ will start at Radboud University. As the name suggests, this minor is about encouraging exercise among young people and we at Radboud Sport & Culture find this subject very important! The Dutch-spoken minor is accessible to B2 and B3 students from all RU faculties.

Did you know that half of the young people in the Netherlands do not exercise enough? Young people often exercise less and sit still for too long at school or at work. Lack of exercise leads to health problems such as an increase in obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular disease, but also stress sensitivity, loneliness and poorer mental health. In the interdisciplinary minor 'Young in motion', these challenges are addressed. By connecting different scientific disciplines, solutions are sought that can reduce exercise poverty. This includes looking at behavioral change, communication, social networks and culture.
