How do we know about this? These and many more parts of the hidden nature on the Radboud University campus is being visualized during a pilot of the 'Natuurgluren' project. Several wildlife cameras are installed in the grounds as part of this pilot, collecting images of nature.

‘Natuurgluren’ (nature peeking) reveals hidden nature on campus
The Radboud University campus is buzzing with activity! A fox family has been working on a beautiful fortress all winter and is currently raising no fewer than five fox cubs. The hedgehogs living on the grounds have awoken from their winter sleep and are already scurrying around diligently in search of worms and other goods – and several birds have taken shelter in one of the many nesting boxes that have been put up in recent years.

To activate the interaction between people and nature, ‘Natuurgluren’ information signs can be found on the Berchmanianum site. They are equipped with a QR code, leading you to the ‘Natuurgluren’ website, where you can view the most beautiful compilations of images of nature on campus. This way, you can discover five different animal species living on the campus grounds. Read briefly about the species and scan the QR code to see (local!) video footage. Ideal quick lunch break activity! Discover all info points on Radboud Natuurgluren.
Natuurgluren is an organization aiming to create more awareness and a closer connection between people and nature in their surroundings. They do this by "making the amazing nature and its processes more visible". If you would like to become part of this group of volunteers, please send an email to radboud [at] natuurgluren.nl.
