New double issue of the European Journal of Migration and Law published

The second and third editions of the European Journal of Migration and Law (EJML) for 2025 have been published. This double issue contains a wide selection of articles on current developments in European migration law and policy.

The articles cover topics such as:

  • the legal and moral dimensions of facilitating irregular migrants,
  • recent trends in European asylum policy,
  • the use of smartphone data in asylum procedures.

The EJML is published four times a year. Edited by Elspeth Guild, Sandra Mantu and Paul Minderhoud, the journal distinguishes itself by analysing migration law and policy from both legal and policy perspectives, rather than exclusively from a sociological perspective. The journal is an initiative of the Centre for Migration Law, in collaboration with the Migration Policy Group in Brussels.

The journal offers valuable insights and a platform for discussion for policymakers, academics, lawyers and NGOs dealing with migration issues in a European context.

The articles in this issue are freely available through Open Access.
