Good news for people coming to campus by (cargo) bike or scooter! The bicycle sheds of the Erasmus Building, Gymnasion/Elinor Ostrom Building, Maria Montessori Building and Grotius Building now have special parking spaces for cargo bikes and scooters. In addition, new, user-friendly bicycle pumps have been installed in several places.
As the bike racks are not suitable for cargo bikes and scooters, these were often parked here and there in the parking area. This resulted in a messy, unclear and sometimes unsafe situation.
Thanks to the parking bays specially installed by Campus Mobility & Logistics (CML), this situation has improved considerably. Scooters and special bikes now have sufficient parking space, separated from regular bikes. Sufficient space is available in the racks for these bikes.
User-friendly bicycle pumps
CML has also placed a number of new bicycle pumps, called Air Drums, at various locations on campus.
The pump head is suitable for both Dutch and French valves, and with the help of a foot pump and pressure gauge, you can easily and quickly inflate your bicycle tyre to the right pressure. The Air Drums are strong and therefore very suitable for use in public spaces.
You will find the Air Drums at:
the entrance to the College Hall Complex on Mercatorpad;
the entrance to the Linnaeus Building;
the east entrance (for employees) to the University Library;
in the bicycle basement of the Gymnasion/Elinor Ostrom Building.
