As knowledge institutions, Radboud University and Radboud university medical center contribute to addressing societal challenges in areas including health, sustainability, talent development and innovation. Close cooperation with local and regional authorities is essential in this regard.
Joint advocacy
The visit included an introduction to The Launch, the campus centre for knowledge-intensive entrepreneurship. Here, students and researchers take their first steps towards entrepreneurship and develop innovations that contribute to the future of the region. The importance of jointly advocating shared interests at provincial, national and European level was also discussed.
The municipal delegation also visited the Lifestyle Care Desk at Radboud university medical center. At this learning and working environment, medical students support patients who want to take an active role in improving their health. It is a great example of how education, research and healthcare come together to contribute to sustainable health.
The visit by Nijmegen Municipality reflects Radboud’s current ‘Connected for Impact’ strategy, through which Radboud University aims to act as a catalyst for the region.
