No trains between Cuijk and Nijmegen in the first week of November

The train connection between Nijmegen and Venlo (the Maaslijn) will be electrified and improved between 2025 and 2027. This involves major construction work that will affect train traffic. There will be several periods in the coming years when Nijmegen Heyendaal Station will not or will be less accessible by train, also during lecture or exam weeks. The first period is in November 2025.

Period of construction work

Date: November 1 - November 10 (until 5:00 AM)

Consequences: Heyendaal Station will not be accessible by train during this period. Keep in mind that it may also be much busier on other buses and on the road to and from the campus. Even if you do not use the Maaslijn, you may experience delays.

Alternative transportation: Replacement bus services will be provided from Cuijk via Mook-Molenhoek to Nijmegen. However, keep in mind that the travel time will be longer and that this transportation will not have sufficient capacity for all passengers.

Advice for students

Keep in mind that classes will continue during this period. More information will follow later about the organization of education during this week and any measures that will be taken.

Advice for staff

Are you a staff member and dependent on the Maaslijn for your commute? Then check in advance whether you can work from home, carpool, or come to work by bike during the construction work.

Do you foresee problems in performing your work? Report this to a supervisor in time and try to find a solution together.

Overview of planned construction work

After November, there will be more periods when train traffic to Nijmegen Heyendaal Station will not be possible. You can find an overview of this and more information about the construction work on the Swietelsky website.
