Over the course of five days the Jaarbeurshallen in Utrecht will be buzzing with the sounds of many people, for innovation in education is an important theme during the National Education Exhibition 2025. In the various halls you can find theatres, squares, and hot-spots with activities revolving around education. Due to great success, the EdTech College returns to hall 11, ‘the place to be’ when it comes to education technology. The first day of this trade event is all about artificial intelligence.
NOLAI at the National Education Exhibition '25 | Save the date
The National Education Exhibition is the trade fair for professionals working in childcare, primary, and secondary education. For this fair, NOLAI will provide an inspirational day of lectures, panel discussions and workshops about AI in education on Tuesday 21 January 2025. Will you be there?
Programme ‘AI in education’
On the stage of the EdTech College, there will be presentations, lectures, panel discussions, and a keynote on how AI supports and enhances learning and teaching. We will also explain more about NOLAI and how we work on diverse projects that allow us to use smart technology to shape the education of the future together.
Generative AI versus educational AI – Interactive presentation
If you give the correct instructions, you can use generative AI to create various forms of content (text, image, music, etc.). Educational AI can support learning and teaching by, for instance, helping with tasks such as correcting answers and giving instructions during in-class assignments. Our teachers-in-residence will showcase the difference in their interactive presentation.
How do I survive AI in education? – Panel discussion
In this discussion we will delve further into teachers’ changing jobs, changing classes, and changes in learning.
Checking AI – Keynote
Inge Molenaar, NOLAI’s scientific director and professor at Radboud University, will tell you about the inner workings of smart technology. She will furthermore demonstrate different levels of automatization, which will allow you to discover the collaboration between human and artificial intelligence.
How can we make education AI-proof? – Presentation
This presentation will explore the rapid developments of generative AI and its impact on education. Erdinç Saçan will provide concrete examples of tools and applications, and will discuss the dos and don’ts for effective and ethical use. Lastly, you will discover strategies with which educational institutions can prepare themselves in order to remain future-proof.
Smarter together – Lecture
What is it like to develop AI? What does it mean to work in a multidisciplinary manner? What effect does the collaboration with companies and scientists have on schools and teachers?
Checking open questions with AI – Panel discussion
NOLAI, in collaboration with CitoLab, Aloysius de Roosten and Roncalli Scholengemeenschap, is developing a smart aid that helps teachers in checking open questions, a task that many teachers have deemed unattractive and time-consuming. Partake in the discussion together with team members from the educational world, the sciences, and CitoLab.
Get to meet NOLAI!
Naturally, we invite you to visit our stands during the day. We would love to tell you more about our – currently seventeen – running projects. How does a smart teddy bear help in the classroom when you don’t speak the language very well? Can VR help to imagine the context of certain situations so you can work on your vocabulary more effectively? Discover it yourself. We look forward to meeting you!
