The steering committee has approved the last three project proposals for the academic year 2023-2024, which brings the total number of co-creation projects for this school year to 10. The ambition to start with 5 to 7 projects has thus been amply achieved. The first proposals were already approved in June; an overview can be found here. And now, three more projects get the green light, namely 'Promising Determination', 'Video Interaction Analysis Tool (VIAT)' and 'Generative AI'.

NOLAI starts another 3 new AI projects together with schools
Every year, NOLAI initiates projects in elementary and secondary (special) education to research and develop AI in the classroom. The last 3 project proposals for school year 2023-2024 have been approved by NOLAI's steering committee. This brings the total number of co-creation projects for this school year to 10. NOLAI's ambition to start with 5 to 7 projects has thus been more than met.
Promising Determination
#secondaryeducation #savetime # tailorededucation
How can AI support teachers in giving an appropriate provisional and definitive school recommendation during the extended two-year bridge class? With Raayland College, we are developing an AI-supported dashboard that helps teachers combine, structure and analyse various relevant data sources.
Together with Maastricht University and Radboud Teachers Academy
Video Interaction Analysis Tool (VIAT)
#secondaryeducation #reflection
How can AI support secondary school teachers in raising awareness and gaining insight when reflecting on their teaching situations so that they can improve their actions in a focused way and in small steps? Together with secondary schools from Lucas Onderwijs and the Haagse Opleidingsschool we are developing a video interaction analysis tool in which AI can extract relevant metadata from video recordings of teaching situations. We are also investigating how these points can be presented meaningfully and clearly to the teacher or teacher-in-training.
Together with Lucas Onderwijs, IrisConnect and scientists from Radboud Universiteit.
Generative AI
#secondaryeducation
How does education maintain control over learning and teaching when using Generative AI? Where are the opportunities and risks, and what are the consequences on, for instance, pedagogical-didactical, ethical, technological and professionalisation levels? We draw up an overview of the opportunities and risks of Generative AI from the five perspectives of the NOLAI. This overview can act as a guide to thoughtfully distribute and embed AI within Quadraam.
Together with scientists from the Behavioural Science Institute of Radboud University.
