These adjusted hours are in line with the limited occupancy during the holidays and contribute to a more sustainable use of the campus buildings.
Closure
From 20 December 2025 to 4 January 2026, the following buildings will be closed:
- Aula
- Berchmanianum
- Elinor Ostrom Building (lobes 3, 5 and 7)
- Erasmus Building
- Grotius Building
- Huize Heyendael
- Huygens Building
- Please note: due to maintenance work, the Huygens Building, with the exception of the Science Library, will be closed until 7 January 2026.
- Maria Montessori Building
- Mercator I
- Villa Oud-Heyendael
Researchers with continuous access to the laboratories in the Huygens or Maria Montessori Building will retain access in accordance with the existing arrangements. Lob 1 of the Elinor Ostrom Building (EOS) will, as during the previous Christmas closure, offer workspaces for staff from the closed buildings. Food and beverage
During the Christmas holidays, most catering establishments on campus will be closed. Only the Coffee Corner in the University Library will be open, with adjusted opening hours. View the opening hours here: Coffee Corner UB.
From Monday 5 January, the regular opening hours will apply again for both the buildings and the catering facilities.
Service Centre (Campus & Facilities)
The Service Centre will be closed from Wednesday 24 December to Sunday 4 January. Urgent malfunctions can be reported by telephone on +31 24 36 3 33 33. Outside opening hours, you will be automatically transferred to the emergency service. If it can wait, please fill in the “report malfunction” form.
