Over the past three years, the number of students has decreased by 2.1%. Compared to five years ago, the number has remained steady, while over ten years, it has increased by 25.6 %.
Admissions
The number of students who started a programme at Radboud University (including internal transitions) has decreased this year by 3.3%, to 8,508 students. The number of students starting a bachelor's or pre-master's program has declined. However, the number of students beginning a master's program has increased by 2.5% compared to last year.
The number of students enrolling at Radboud University for the first time (external admissions) also decreased by 3.6%, with 5,331 students studying at Radboud University for the first time. However, the number of new master’s students at Radboud University has increased again this year, by 10.8%.
Across all Dutch universities, a total of 338,400 students are enrolled this academic year. This is a slight decrease from the previous academic year, when more than 340,000 students were enrolled (see UNL report).
Internationalisation
The total number of international students studying at Radboud University has decreased this year – as in previous years – to 2,490, a 3.5% decline from last year. International students now make up 10.3% of Radboud University’s student population, a slightly lower proportion than in previous years.
The total number of new international students enrolling at Radboud University has fallen from 756 last year to 658 this year. With a 13% decrease, this is the lowest international intake in the past five years. As was the case last year, this decline is exclusively among bachelor’s students. The international intake in master's programs has actually increased by 7%, particularly from non-EU/EEA countries (+14.6%).
Preliminary national figures show that of the total international student intake at Dutch universities, a modest 2.6% enrolled at Radboud University. This share is similar to previous years.
