Photo exhibition casts new light on colonial past

On 27 March at 16.00h there will be an opening session of the pop-up photo exhibition ‘Glimpses of Colonialism’ in the University Library, public hall first floor. The exhibition has been curated by a think tank of students in cooperation with Radboud Heritage and the Catholic Documentation Centre (KDC).

Historical photographs may easily suggest that the viewer sees history. In a way, this is true, but it is necessary to realise that one is looking through someone else’s lens and that what one sees, may not be as innocent as it appears to be. This exhibition focuses on three missionary photographs, encouraging you to question their narratives and the history they portray.
