Monday April 15th, the team of Gender & Diversity got the opportunity to discuss the master program Intersectional Gender Studies with the committee of the NVAO (Dutch Flemish Accreditation Organisation). In four different panels - lecturers, management, quality/assessment and work field/experts - spoke with the committee about the content and the pedagogy of the master's program.
The aim of the MA is to educate professionals capable of conducting scientific analyses of complex issues related to gender, diversity, and inequality. Based on these scientific analyses, the program aims to enable participants to evaluate and (re)design (policy) interventions with the goal of contributing to social transformation towards greater equality and inclusion.
A team of Gender & Diversity staff, with input from many colleagues from other faculties, has worked hard to design an amazing interdisciplinary program that takes students from theory to practice. And this work paid off!
The NVAO committee was critical, but constructive, and some of their points will be taken to heart in the further development of the programme.
At the end of the day, the committee decided to advise positively about the MA Intersectional Gender Studies. They shared their enthusiasm for the program and complimented the commitment shown by the team and the Faculty Board. The final decision is in the hands of the NVAO and is expected by July.

Positive advice for newly developed MA Intersectional Gender Studies!
