Postdoc positions in entropy, chaos, and irreversibility

The Radboud Center for Natural Philosophy at Radboud University is offering three postdoctoral positions within the new interdisciplinary research programme Origins of Irreversibility, funded by a €2.4 million grant from the John Templeton Foundation. The project investigates a fundamental puzzle in physics: how irreversible macroscopic behaviour can emerge from microscopic laws that are generally reversible. The three positions are in mathematical physics, theoretical physics, and the history of physics, with research focusing on entropy, randomness, chaos, statistical mechanics, and black-hole thermodynamics. The application deadline is 14 October 2026.
