Rob Jetten has led D66 to a historic election victory. On Tuesday, the so-called exploratory phase of the formation process will begin. Jetten has the initiative and could ultimately become prime minister. His career is impressive to say the least, the foundations for which were laid during his studies in Public Administration (2005–2009) at Nijmegen School of Management.
In the run-up to the 2025 general election, Jetten visited the Radboud University. In an interview, he talks about his student days, his fondest memories and how his Public Administration studies have benefited him. Jetten: “Well, I always say that I didn't realise what it would all bring me when I was still studying Public Administration. But the helicopter view you learn here, being able to look at problems from all kinds of different perspectives and search for solutions, has been very useful to me both at Prorail and in politics.”
He also advises students of Public Administration and Political Science that it is important to be passionate about a particular topic.
