Below you will find the list of decisions taken by the Executive Board in the week of 16 June 2025 (week 25).

  1. Partnership Advisory Committee
    The Executive Board has approved the Buydens proposal below.

    The Partnerships Advisory Committee will focus on three main priorities in the academic year 2025/2026:

    1. Eight institutes in problem areas outside Europe with which a Memorandum of Understanding has been concluded will be further assessed;
    2. Twenty European universities in problem areas with which a bilateral partnership has been concluded will be further assessed;
    3. Ongoing and new questions or cases will be submitted to the Partnerships Advisory Committee in line with the developed consideration framework.

    The Executive Board has approved the continuation of official support from the Academic Affairs Division for the academic year 2025/2026. The Executive Board has also approved the continuation of the current allowance for committee members for the duration of the academic year 2025/2026.
     

  2. Evaluation of governance model
    The Executive Board has approved the procedural proposal for the evaluation of the governance model.
     
  3. Guarantee for the new Master’s degree programme in Medical Data Science
    The Executive Board has approved a temporary guarantee for the negative operating result of the new Master's degree programme in Medical Data Science for the actual costs, up to a maximum of €444,800 for 2026, €366,400 for 2027, €563,500 for 2028 and €473,600 for 2029. This concerns the actual costs incurred and not lump-sum funding.
     
  4. Faculty of Social Sciences teaching and research remit
    The Executive Board has decided to grant Dr G. Keijsers the teaching and research remit in Psychotherapy for an indefinite period, as from 1 September 2025.
     
  5. Faculty of Social Sciences special teaching and research remit
    The Executive Board has decided to grant Dr J. Vrijsen the special teaching and research remit in Transdiagnostic Psychopathology for a period of three years, as from 1 July 2025.
     
  6. Extension of the Faculty of Science teaching and research remit
    The Executive Board has decided to extend the teaching and research remit in Theory of Condensed Matter initially granted to Prof. M. Katsnelson until 10 August 2025 until the end date of his Synergy grant (currently forecasted as 31 May 2026).
     
  7. Extension of the Faculty of Science special teaching and research remit
    The Executive Board has decided to extend the special teaching and research remit in Corporate Environmental Sustainability initially granted to Prof. S. Sim until 1 July 2025 for a period of five years.
