The Radboud Executive Board has signed a license agreement with two CAOS alumni, Marieke van Hoof and Willem Bennenbroek, who started a venture to take the RiceUp game beyond the university walls. Developed together with staff members Luuk van Kempen and Lau Schulpen, RiceUp is a ‘serious game’ in which players form a community of rice farmers and are challenged to balance a set of interconnected Sustainable Development Goals with limited resources. RiceUp is played on a physical gameboard with a digital scoreboard and is available in both English and Dutch. If you or your organisation is interested in a game session, please visit their website to check out the workshop arrangements offered by Marieke and Willem. Interested Radboud colleagues can contact Luuk or Lau to borrow the game (free of charge). The game has already travelled to different corners of the campus, such as the Green Office and the Faculty of Science.
