At Radboud University, we believe it’s important that everyone feels welcome and safe – even in places you visit daily, like toilets. That’s why we are working on creating inclusive toilets. These toilets are intended for everyone, regardless of gender identity or other personal characteristics.
To make this happen, we will assess each building individually to determine what adjustments are needed. These may range from updating signage to adding extra features, such as a privacy screen at urinals. Updated signage may include clear pictograms indicating the type of toilet available, without specifying who should use it. This way, we ensure everyone feels free to use the facilities that suit them best.
Each building will have at least one inclusive toilet per three floors, ensuring that there is always one nearby.
Schedule
The first buildings where toilets will be modified are the Berchmanianum and the Elinor Ostrom Building. The toilets in these buildings will be adapted in September. The first modifications will take place on 24 September. The following toilets will be modified:
- Berchmanianum, room 00.227
- Elinor Ostrom Building, rooms 00.830 and 02.830
