During the week of 17 October, we celebrated the 100th anniversary of Radboud University with the Dies Natalis and Radboud Art & Science. Time for a recap of this special week.

Dies Natalis
The 100th Dies Natalis took place on Tuesday 17 October at Concertgebouw De Vereeniging. During the Dies celebration, José Sanders accepted the rectorship, there were several speeches, six of the total of seven honorary doctorates were awarded and there were musical performances. From the Municipality of Nijmegen, Radboud University received three gifts (NL). Radboud University itself gave two large 'luisterschalen’ as a gift to the city of Nijmegen and its inhabitants. His Majesty the King was also present at our anniversary and entered into a conversation with students and staff.

Radboud Art & Science
From Thursday 19 October to Saturday 21 October, visitors of Radboud Art & Science delved into the history of 100 years of Radboud University through music, film, dance, photo exhibitions, light installations and visual art. Through various performances and art forms, visitors immersed themselves in the heritage, history, and daily operations of the university, and the stories of students, researchers and other staff. Check out the photos and the aftermovie. In the coming weeks, we will also share some productions from Radboud Art & Science on the Radboud social media.
Honorary doctorates
Six of the seven honorary doctorates were awarded during the Dies Natalis on 17 October. During the week, the faculties organised several activities around the new honorary doctorates, including lectures and a dinner.
Mural 100 years of Radboud University
A new mural portraying the history of Radboud University has been placed on the corner of Snijderstraat and Spinthuisstraat in Nijmegen. The Waalpainting is a gift from Radboud University and the Faculty of Arts to the city of Nijmegen.
