The Opening of the Academic Year took place on Monday 5 September from 14:00 until approximately 15:30 in De Vereeniging. The theme of the program was 'opportunities'.
During the Opening of the Academic Year, there were speeches, awards and various cultural contributions, such as from pole dancing association Lasya and cabaret artist Katinka Polderman.

Thomas is a master student of Physics and Astronomy at the Radboud University. Thomas Vissers has won various debating tournaments and took part in the NK debating.
This year, the Executive Board presented the Team Science Awards for the first time. The Radboud Team Science Award went to two teams: Medicine for People with Intellectual Disabilities and Substance Use, Addiction & Food.

Seven recent graduates received the University Study Award for the exceptional quality of their theses. The University Study Award is an annual prize for students who have written a thesis of exceptional quality.

The AMID Young Professional programme is this year's winner of the Internationalization Award. This prize is for initiatives that promote the internationalization of education at Radboud University and/or contribute to a more inclusive and multilingual academic community.
