Major healthcare reforms are rare. In this book, the authors examine the most significant healthcare reforms in the Netherlands and show that not every reform is alike or achieves its intended goals. Reforms aimed at improving access to care often prove more successful than those seeking to increase quality and efficiency. The authors demonstrate how strongly political and societal contexts shape reform outcomes, and how institutional continuity often persists more than anticipated.
