Refurbishment and expansion of lactation rooms on campus

This year, all the lactation rooms on campus have been refurbished. Almost every building (complex) now has a comfortable and attractive lactation room. From Monday 11 November, the new lactation rooms in the Grotius Building (00.107) and the University Library (01.32) are in use. Anyone in need of a quiet place for lactation can use these rooms: students, staff and guests.

Comfort and ease of use characterise the new design. All lactation rooms meet the same high standard of comfort and functionality that matches the users' wishes and needs. The room has a comfortable temperature and atmospheric décor. The lactation rooms are safe, easy to find and can be booked in advance.

What can you expect in a lactation room?

  • A comfortable chair for relaxing lactation;
  • A pantry with a fridge and freezer compartment for safe storage of breast milk;
  • A table for your supplies;
  • A socket within easy reach for additional equipment;
  • An internal lockable door for privacy and peace of mind.

Booking

Reservation for use of a lactation room is mandatory. Users can easily reserve a lactation room via Self Service (FACE) or via the building reception desk. You can plan a reservation a week in advance, but you can also book an available room last-minute.

This way, you avoid unnecessary waiting and can count on a room being available during your reserved time slot. The lactation rooms are to be used for lactation only.
