Renate Loll will receive the 2025 Amaldi Medal

It has been announced that Renate Loll, professor in theoretical high-energy physics at IMAPP, will receive the 2025 Amaldi Medal of the Italian Society for General Relativity and Gravitational Physics (SIGRAV) for her groundbreaking contributions to quantum gravity and the development of Causal Dynamical Triangulations.

The Amaldi Medal is awarded biennially to scientists who carry out their activity in Europe and have given important contributions to the Physics of Gravitation.

Prof. Renate Loll:  through the development of Causal Dynamical Triangulations, she has opened a novel and rigorous path toward a non-perturbative formulation of quantum spacetime. Her work has significantly deepened our understanding of the quantum structure of geometry and the emergence of classical spacetime from fundamentally discrete structures.

The award ceremony will take place on Sep 10 during the XXVI SIGRAV Conference  in Milano.
