Safer login at eduVPN

Due to the recent cyber attacks on educational institutions, we are accelerating the introduction of the more secure way of logging in when using eduVPN. From 16 January 2025, you will log in with your Radboud account and additional authentication (MFA).

EduVPN is a way to securely use the internet especially when working from a public internet connection. It is also used to connect to the campus network from outside. With VPN, you encrypt your internet traffic and protect your online identity.

New way of logging in

The new way of working changes the login method. From now on, if you are not already logged in, you must use your Radboud e-mail address (e.g.: voornaam.achternaam [at] ru.nl (voornaam[dot]achternaam[at]ru[dot]nl)) in combination with MFA. If you are already logged in, you will then only need to go through multi factor authentication.

Without MFA authentication, you can no longer use eduVPN

Don't have MFA set up yet? You can set up MFA via the Office portal. You can choose to sign in via an authenticator app or SMS. This can be done via your Radboud University phone, or via your private phone. If you want to change the chosen login method, for example because you have a new phone, you can do this in the Office portal as well.
