Why this prototype?
Computer Science is a subject with a severe teacher shortage. Many schools therefore do not offer it, even though it is highly relevant in today’s society. Gemeentelijk Gymnasium Hilversum, Metis Montessori Lyceum, Universiteit Utrecht and Numworx have joined forces in the project Personalized Learning Path in Computer Science to develop and research a solution. The central question: Can educational AI support learning and teaching Computer Science in havo and vwo so that more students can master the subject?

Learning materials for programming and databases have been expanded with a smart, personalized learning path for students. The online platform provides insight into progress and suggests next steps through a so-called recommender system.
