The second edition of Young Innovators will kick off on Wednesday, 1 October. No fewer than 420 first-year Business Administration students from Radboud University will head out into the region that day to take a look behind the scenes at 85 SMEs in the Green Metropolitan Region.
The spread is wide: companies from Arnhem to Druten and from Nijmegen to Zevenaar will open their doors. Students will be introduced to the diversity and strength of the regional business community.
Successful first edition
The first edition of Young Innovators, which started in 2024, was a great success. More than 500 students from Radboud University and HAN University of Applied Sciences visited nearly 100 companies at the time. During the visits, students asked questions about topics such as innovation, collaboration, sustainability, digitisation and talent retention. The data collected formed the basis for the first Regional Innovation Monitor, which provides a clear picture of trends and opportunities within SMEs. This report was enthusiastically received by both companies and knowledge institutions and serves as a source for follow-up projects in the region.
Value for companies and students
For students, Young Innovators is a unique opportunity to get to know the regional business community and gain practical experience. Companies benefit from the fresh perspective of young talent, direct contact with future interns and valuable insights that are anonymously incorporated into Lifeport@'s* annual Innovation Monitor.
