The Sector Plan for Law has been evaluated very positively. On 21 August, Minister of Education Eppo Bruins therefore decided to structurally provide the financial resources for the Sector Plan and the Digital SSH domain plan.
Between 2019 and 2024, the ten law faculties in the Netherlands worked together on five priority areas: Conflict Resolution Institutions, Digital Legal Studies, Empirical Legal Studies, Reassessment of Public Values in Private Relationships, and the Transformative Effect of Globalisation on Law.
The SSH Sector Plan Committee expressed great praise in its final evaluation. According to the committee, the plan has given a powerful boost to the legal discipline and strengthened the connection between education and research. The committee also praised the sharp choices and the great potential for further development.
The Council of Deans of Law is delighted with the minister's decision. Our faculty board is also very pleased with this result. For our faculty, it means that funding for the Digital Legal Studies and Conflict Resolution Institutions priorities will continue in the coming years.
