Six Nijmegen law programmes best in terms of student happiness

Based on Elsevier's 'Best Studies 2022', six Nijmegen law programmes come out top in terms of student happiness. The bachelor's programmes European Law School and Law and the master's programme International and European Law also receive a medal, as they 'excel in several aspects compared to programmes in the same field'.

Elsevier Best Studies compares university programmes annually based on students' assessment of their programmes. The results from the National Student Survey (NSE) are used for this purpose. See in this fact sheet (pdf, 176 kB) how the Nijmegen law faculty's programmes performed.

Programmes with number one position based on student assessment
For each programme, Elsevier compiled a ranking based on students' overall opinions on the 11 satisfaction questions. The Bachelor's programmes in Law, Notarial Law and European Law School and the Master's programmes in Tax Law, Notarial Law and International and European Law ranked first in their fields.

Medal
Courses that score one standard deviation above the sector average on at least four of the 11 'satisfaction questions' earn a medal:

  • At four or 5 scores above average: a bronze medal
  • At 6 or 7 scores above average: a silver medal
  • At eight or more scores above average: a gold medal

The bachelor's programme in Law and the master's programme in International and European Law both received a bronze medal. The undergraduate programme Euopean Law School even received a silver medal.
