Student population
Radboud University has 24,402 students in the current academic year, which is 231 fewer than last year. The number of students has increased by 17.7% over the past five years, and by 6.2% over the past ten years and a 30.5% increase over the past ten years. Nationwide, there are 340,700 students studying at Dutch universities. This is almost 700 more students than last year, according to the preliminary student numbers published today by the Universities of the Netherlands.
Student intake
The number of students enrolling in a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Pre-Master’s programme at Radboud University has increased by 0.8% and is currently 8,794 students. The number of students starting a study programme at Radboud University for the first time has increased by 1.1%. Interestingly, this year saw an increase in the number of students who completed a Bachelor’s degree at another university before pursuing a Master’s degree at Radboud University. After a decline last year, external intake is up 13% this year.
Internationalisation
There are 2,580 international students studying at Radboud University this year, which represents 10.6% of the total student population. This is a decrease of 1.6% compared to last year. The intake of international Bachelor’s students decreased by 12.7% whereas the intake of international Master’s students increased by nearly 14%. These developments are in line with the national figures.
