Keynote Human-AI collaboration
The Meet-up would not be complete without a stimulating keynote speech from NOLAI director Inge Molenaar. The keynote speech “Human-AI collaboration in education” focuses on three topics: educational AI, the learning-performance balance and the changing role of teachers.
- Educational AI is fundamentally different from generic AI: edu-AI has been developed for education specifically. What are the differences exactly, and what trends do we see in Europe regarding educational AI?
- The learning-performance balance is a concept that had become very timely with the advent of generative AI in the classroom. Whereas previously effort, performance and learning were linked, this is no longer the case with the advent of generative AI. It is now possible to perform well without effort and without learning. How do we deal with this?
- The collaboration with Ai and the subsequent change in teachers’ roles takes two new forms: complementation and augmentation. AI will not replace teachers in the future, but it will complement and enrich them. What will that look like?
