On Thursday the 19th of October 2023, the Symposium 'Diversity, Equity & Inclusion: grand challenges' took place with inspiring speakers and engaging parallel sessions. Roy Jakobs, CEO of Philips, shared insights on the crucial role of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in innovation. Stella Nkomo, Strategic Professor at the University of Pretoria, highlighted the theme from her unique perspective. Belgian conceptual artist Koen Vanmechelen surprised with his talk on 'Biocultural diversity: The chicken's appeal'.
Parallel sessions were also held during the event, in which researchers Yvonne Benschop, Anna van der Vleuten, Peter Kruyen, Albert de Vaal, Vincent Marchau and Friederike Landau-Donnelly interactively engaged with the audience and further explored the topic using propositions.
