Today's world is complex: geopolitical tensions, technological revolutions, social issues and climate challenges affect us all, including education. More than ever, our education system needs ideas, enthusiasm, courage, craftsmanship and the power to change! It is time to build together. Not only the education of tomorrow, but also the way we learn, work and interact with each other today. During The Education Days, we take the time to pause, look ahead and build meaningful education together. Education in which we not only impart knowledge to learners, but also skills, resilience and connectedness.
The theme: time to build together
Time to build together creates connection, requires innovation, and emphasises that education remains human work.
- Connection: the increasing complexity of issues requires connection between people, perspectives, disciplines and institutions (e.g. trans- and interdisciplinary education, dealing with polarisation and controversial topics, students as partners).
- Innovation: how do we prepare our students for a future full of change? These times call for innovation that goes beyond technology alone. They call for a redesign of our education system, for new forms of learning and evaluation, and for letting go of old patterns (e.g. innovations in the fields of AI, responsiveness, didactics, monitoring and evaluation).
- Human work: at a time when technology plays an ever-increasing role, it is precisely the human touch that makes the difference. Education is and remains human work. Lecturers and students together face the challenge of learning to deal with uncertainty, change and innovation. This requires adaptivity, resilience, self-knowledge, professional proximity and cooperation (e.g. human in the lead when using AI in education, student welfare, motivation).
The organisation encourages creativity and looks for interactive, applicable sessions that have a direct impact on educational practice. Would you like to contribute to this?
