ThermoClinic on 16 June: Exercising in the Heat

On Tuesday, 16 June, a unique ThermoClinic on exercising and performing in hot conditions will take place. During this clinic, you’ll learn all about the effects of heat on the body and athletic performance, as well as how to best prepare yourself for exercising in the heat.

Lecture

During an interactive lecture, you’ll gain insight into thermoregulation, the impact of heat on your performance, and how to recognize, prevent, and treat heat-related injuries. The focus is on raising awareness: an excessively high core body temperature can significantly impair performance and poses a real risk of heat-related injury, one of the most common conditions in endurance sports.

Practical Session

Would you like to experience what happens in your body during exercise? After the lecture, you can participate in a 2-hour practical session (maximum 20 participants). Using a CORE sensor that displays your core and skin temperature in real time, you’ll see immediately how your body reacts to heat and exercise.

Registration

Would you like to attend the lecture? Then sign up for the ticket hour ThermoClinic lecture from 18:00 tot 19:00 uur.  Would you also like to join the practical session? Then register for the ticket hourThermoClinic lecture and practical session from 18:00 tot 21:00.

The ThermoClinic (in Dutch) is led by Jasmijn Lau (top athlete and movement scientist) and Joost Fonville (founder of Stichting Hittebewust Sporten).
