Tom Salemink's research area concerns company law. The focus of his research is on two central themes of the Van der Heijden Institute's research programme, namely corporate governance and corporate litigation. For instance, Salemink is co-author of the volume in the Asser series on Corporate Governance, led a research project on the chairman of the supervisory board in 2022-2023, and spoke at several symposia on the impact of sustainability rules on corporate governance. Salemink's research approach takes a positive law and comparative law perspective. This fits seamlessly with the Nijmegen law school's research vision.
In the coming years, Salemink will further research the legal aspects of sustainability and digitalisation in the field of legal entities and company law: "Sustainability and new, digital technologies are topics with undeniably far-reaching impact on corporate law. I look forward to continuing to contribute to the legal academic debate on these important topics and to engaging with students on these issues in teaching.”
