Unravelling the emergence of gravity and spacetime in new NWA program

IMAPP (High Energy Physics and Mathematics) is participating in a new national program on "Emergence at all scales", which has just been awarded by NWO as part of their Research on Routes by Consortia (ORC) program line of the Dutch Research Agenda (NWA).

The key scientific questions the consortium will address over the next five years are why and how novel collective behaviour in the physical world can arise from interactions between a set of basic, elementary building blocks. Co-PIs from IMAPP are Annegret Burtscher, Renate Loll, Frank Saueressig and Walter van Suijlekom, who will supervise PhD students financed by the program on the topics "Origin and Emergence of Spacetime Symmetries”, "Cosmic Correlators from Quantum Gravity” and "Entropy and Geometry".
Radboud University is involved in six consortia receiving funding for research within the Research on Routes by Consortia (ORC) programme line of the Dutch Research Agenda (NWA).
