Update housing FFTR #10 | Unpacking

Welcome in the Maria Montessori building!

In this update, you can read about the steps you can take to get back to work in our new building as quickly as possible, and the steps the relocation team is taking to help you with this. There is a lot to tell you about the new building, so you will be receiving this information in stages over the coming weeks. Please visit the FFTR housing project page, for further information.

Checklist: the first week after the move

  1. Collect your new key. These can be collected from the porter at the Maria Montessori Building on Monday 10 August between 09:00 and 11:00.
  2. Check your new room or workspace. Anything out of order? Check below, to see who you need to contact.
  3. Unpack your belongings and store any valuables or confidential documents in a lockable drawer unit or roller-door cabinet.
  4. Remove stickers from moving boxes and return them to the designated collection point.
  5. Take the time to adjust your desk and office chair properly before you start work.

Checked off all five steps? Have a look here for the extended unpacking instructions for more steps.

Please bear in mind that, during the first few weeks, our main focus will be on ensuring that everyone can get back to work. After that, the moving team will get to work on things such as artwork, whiteboards, extra plastic sheeting, and so on.

A new way of working

The Maria Montessori Building requires a new way of working. You can find an overview of all the changes in 'Floor plan and arrangments FFTR'. Changes that will affect your work from the first week onwards are:

  1. Keep your office unlocked as much as possible so that your workspace is available to others.
  2. Rerserve rooms online
  3. To prevent damage to the building and its interior, we ask you to
    • use plastic holders, magnets or the magnetic boards to hang up posters, and to only hang up artwork and whiteboards using the existing rails;
    • not place any items in front of or against windows;
    • leave furniture where it is.

How we’ll help during your first week

Over the coming weeks, a whole team of colleagues will be on hand to ensure that our move to the Maria Montessori building goes as smoothly as possible. You’ll find them at reception on the ground floor and in the corridors, and you can get in touch with them in the following ways:
