Update housing FFTR #5

Faculty floorplan complete

Last week, the Faculty Board finalised the distribution of departments within the Maria Montessori Building – what in Dutch is called the 'organisatorische indeling'. The Board would like to thank the Housing Project Group and all department heads for their vital role in bringing about this allocation.

Curious about the floor plan? Have a look at the organisatorische indeling (in Dutch).

What to expect in the next phase, as an employee

In the next phase – the design phase – your department will decide how to make use of the space allocated to it. The head of your department will take the lead in this process. A number of faculty-wide agreements – which are described in more detail in the document linked above – form the framework within which your department can do this:

  • Share meeting rooms
  • Provide access to offices
  • Make efficiënt use of storage
  • Be visible and make sure colleagues can reach you
  • Protect privacy and confidentiality
  • Be mindful of the concentration and peace and quite of colleagues

Within this framework, there is room to make additional arrangements within your department to ensure that the space works for you.

13 April - Faculty Meeting Maria Montessori Building

On Monday 13 April, between 12.30 pm and 2.30 pm, all staff members of the faculty, the Titus Brandsma Institute and the Institute for Eastern Christian Studies have been invited via Outlook to a meeting in the Maria Montessori Building. The goal of the meeting is to get a clear picture of how each department wants to use its spaces, what additional arrangements department need to make in order to work effectively and what layout of the space best suits these needs. Of course, the project group will be present during the meeting to provide support where necessary.

What is expected of me as an employee?

In the upcoming weeks we expect the following:

  • Start preparing for the meeting on 13 April with your department. Start thinking about what you’ll need to be able to work effectively in the Maria Montessori Building.
  • If possible, take a walk around the building with your department to get a feel for the space.
  • Start tidying up and filing away items at your workstation and in your department.
