Assistant professor in conflict studies Nora Stel has been nominated by a jury consisting of three journalists from Gelderland for the national Woman in the Media Award. This is an initiative of expert database Vaker in de Media that puts female experts in the spotlight and encourages them to be visible in the media.

Nora specialises in war and displacement in the Middle East and interprets this complex subject matter for a wide audience in newspapers and on radio and television. According to the jury, Nora is ‘a strong expert who shares her knowledge calmly and understandably’.
