Working together on the FSW Strategy 2027–2032

You may already have heard: since April, the Faculty of Social Sciences has been working on a strategy for 2027–2032. With this strategy, we build on our current direction and make full use of the knowledge, expertise and strengths already present within the faculty. We are developing the strategy collaboratively, involving staff, students and partners. It will help the faculty make well-informed long-term choices in education, research and support.

In April, we began further developing our faculty strategy, which will guide our work in the years ahead. The world around us is changing rapidly—demographically, technologically, socially and economically. This calls for a clear and widely supported course of action, enabling us as a faculty, through our teaching and research, to contribute to a healthy, free world with equal opportunities for all.

In developing our faculty strategy, we are aligning with Radboud University’s institutional plan, Connected for Impact, and translating it to our faculty context. This gives us the opportunity to set our own priorities and add to the institutional plan where needed. In doing so, we build on our existing strengths, in line with our current faculty strategy, while refining it where necessary in response to developments both within and beyond the University.

Over the coming year, we will place strong emphasis on co-creation. We will draw on existing insights, expertise and sector plans, and invite staff, students and external stakeholders to contribute ideas and co-develop the strategy. In recent months, we have already gathered valuable input during the faculty away day, in conversations with colleagues and students, and through various consultation formats, exploring which developments and themes are considered most important for the years ahead. After the summer, all staff and students will be invited to share their perspectives through a survey, including on education, research, and the working and learning environment.

We will keep you updated on the progress of the strategy in the coming period, including via FSW Weekly. If you already have questions, ideas or input, please feel free to contact marije.klomp [at] ru.nl (Marije Klomp) or janwilm.delicat [at] ru.nl (Jan-Wilm Delicat).
