About the Faculty of Medical Sciences

The Faculty of Medical Sciences of Radboud University was founded in 1951 and at that time was under the administration of the university. In 1999 the “academic hospitals” emerged nationwide, and from then on the Radboud hospital and the teaching institute of the Faculty of Medical Sciences merged into the “university medical center,” now the Radboudumc. Radboudumc has three core tasks: Patient Care, Scientific Research and Education. The core task of Education is managed from the Radboudumc Health Academy (RHA).

To have a significant impact on health and healthcare

Radboudumc strives every day for better care, research, and education, aiming to better understand how diseases develop, and how they can be prevented, treated, and cured. The shared commitment to a healthy society and sustainable healthcare forms the foundation for the strategic collaboration between Radboud University and Radboudumc.

Radboudumc aims to lead in shaping the healthcare of the future. We do this in a patient-centered and innovative way, working closely with our network. This ensures every patient always receives the best care, now and in the future. Learn more about Radboudumc’s strategy and mission via the button below.
